Will employers accept an online MBA?
Short answer
Most private employers accept it. A minority of policies specify "regular" or "full-time", and those are the ones to check.
Private-sector hiring generally reads the institution and what you can do, not the delivery mode. Where a company does exclude distance qualifications, it is written into an HR policy rather than decided in the interview.
If a specific employer matters to you, ask them before you enrol rather than after.
What to check
- Ask HR to point at the clause, in writing, if you are told it does not qualify.
- A written policy can often be clarified; an assumption in an interview room cannot.
