What is left out of the advertised fee?
Short answer
Registration, examination fees per semester, re-registration in year two, certificate and marksheet charges, and sometimes convocation.
Institutions advertise tuition. The total you pay is tuition plus a set of charges that arrive later, often after you have committed.
On a two-year programme the examination fee alone is charged four times.
What to check
- Ask one question in writing: what is the total I will pay from admission to receiving my certificate?
- A straight answer tells you a great deal about the institution beyond the fee.
